Mr. Hold My Feet

Here is Mr. Hold My Feet soon after he slipped out of bed to come help me sew. He also poured a little yellow paint out on the carpet and hammered it. Nice! I not only have a yellow blob in the carpet, but I have splatters of yellow paint on my table. I guess that was the creativity in him.

My son has an obsession...Super Heroes! He carries around these figures (Superman, Batman, Flash, and Wonder Woman) all day and even sleeps with them. If he wakes up in the middle of the night he has to locate all of them. If he can't, he wakes everyone up until we find them. He loves his super hero pajamas and thinks he should be able to wear them every where. I picked him up from the baby sitter's last week and he had his clothes on, but when we got home he wanted to take his shirt off. My kids want to take all their clothes off as soon as they walk in the door. I told him no that we were going to go outside and he started crying. He kept saying "I can't see it! I can't see it!" I looked a little closer and tried to hold him but he was relentless in taking his shirt off. Of course, I gave in. If you are a follower then you know I have encouraged this behavior. Cry and mommy will let you have your way! As I am grabbing a hold of his shirt I notice he has his superman pajama top on under neath. Making sense to me now. He couldn't see his Superman logo.

He also has a new thing. It's been going on for the past month. When he gets sleepy, he wants you to hold his feet. Yes, hold his feet. If we are in the car, he props his feet on the shoulder of my seat and says "mommy, hold my feet". I came to bed the other night around 2AM and he was turned toward the foot of the bed and I told him to come up and lay on the pillow but he wouldn't. In his half awake voice he asks me where his "doddy" is and I tell him that he is right beside him. He softly says "doddy, hold my feet". Richard is out like a light so Gavin gets a little louder. "Hold my feet doddy!" Still Richard doesn't budge. Gavin then raises up and slaps Richard's bare back as hard as he can three times while hollering "HOLD MY FEET DODDY!" Richard raises straight up and grabs both feet and they both fall back over and go to sleep. I was so tickled. Richard don't even remember him doing it. Last night in bed Gavin rolls over and says "mommy, hold my feet". I do and I get the sweetest "hank you mommy".

Polkadaisies Vacation time is near!!!!

Look at what a cute family! Bethany was very nice to send me these pictures of her family at Disney World in their Polkadaisies* Minnie and Mickey shirts. I had four families wearing my shirts at Disney World during spring break and none of them were mine gosh darn it. I got an email from a family who was there and said they had seen the cutest family wearing my shirts and wanted to get some for their family because they are taking a Disney Cruise this summer. Come to find out, it was Bethany who had hooked them up with Polkadaisies. Thanks Bethany! They took pictures of their shirts so they wouldn't forget. I knew Sophia and her big red hair bow would catch peoples' eyes. Too stinkin' cute! I have to give a big thanks to Jenny in Illinois for making such an effort to get in touch with me. I'm still holding out that the guys in the family will get on board with the Mickey shirts. I think anything goes at Disney World. I will even add that what happens at Disney World, stays at Disney World. Well, I guess that would be Vegas. Ahh...What happens in DW stays in DW too!

Polkadaisies* customers who have had pictures made with Southern Charm Portraits

Meet Mr. Samuel. He recently turned one and I had the privilege of making him a birthday shirt. Cutie! Look how sweet. Through all his distress he still kept that finger up to show his age.

Bump! Splash!

What a weekend! It started off with a bump on the way to the park Friday but ended with a splash Sunday at the lake.

I was so upset Friday when a lady rear ended us. Upset? No, I would say furious. I was not braking, not stopped, just going the speed limit and she smashed into me. She had to have been flying. Thank goodness for a SUV. Her car was totaled and mine only had a messed up bumper. She went to jail and we went to the park!

Check out the handle bars?

I can't tell you how often this little fella sneaks upstairs to help me sew when he should be in bed. Imagine it being 1 am and trying to get something finished with a two year old sitting on your knee. Look at my thread! It kept him entertained for 10 minutes!!! It's amazing what you will let your kids do so you can finish something. The thread is just one of his minor entertainments. I don't have pictures of some of the good ones. He comes by it honest. The best one that I remember of me and my brother was the time we smeared bananas on the unfinished basement floor so we could roller skate and play hockey with a new level of challenge. Let's just say that mom didn't get to make all of her banana pudding!

Just getting warmed up for a summer at the lake. A nice ride on the jet skiis, pizza at Shanghi, golf ball hunting at Deerfield, and a little tanning. I want more!

Polkadaisies & Southern Charm Portraits call it a wrap...for now!

These are the last of the pictures from our photo shoot with Southern Charm Portraits. I love each and every picture and they will always be very special to me. They will be a constant reminder of a very special time in my life that is full of joy because of these two little ones that motivate me daily to be a good person and to cherish my family. My family is everything to me!
I can't say enough about Rebekah & Daniel's work but there is no need for words...just check out their work http://southerncharmportraits.com/blog/ . I will be posting more of SCP's work along the way as Polkadaisies' customers are photographed.
