Polkadaisies name shirt

I worked all evening yesterday on shirts. I finished up all the peace sign shirts, some school shirts (Eagles), and this name shirt. I have a couple more shirts to finish and them I am going to start working on all the "when pink & black swirl, you'll want to twirl" orders and the necklaces. I was so hoping to be able to stay home today and sew all day, but the weather did not cooperate. It has teased me all week. There is hope for Monday though. LET IT SNOW!!!! I want one good one that we can play in for a couple of days and then I want it to be summer :)
I was so confident yesterday that we would get out that I placed a bet with my friend Judy. I lost, so I will be buying her a Dr. Pepper after lunch when we are about to fall over and need a caffeine burst!

Polkadaisies "go big blue" Kentucky Wildcats shirt

Polkadaisies "peace" shirt

I bought this fabric a long time ago but have never used it until now. I love the fabric but I could never find something to use it on. When I finally got down on my list to work on the peace sign shirts, I knew exactly what fabric I would be using. I think it is perfect!

A day in the life of Gavin

The look of innocence

The latest boo boo

Hot tamales

The energizer bunny doesn't keep going and going!
As I have said before, you can't turn your head with Gavin because you never know what you will get. I think it's a boy thing?
Sadie got a new Hannah Montana tent that looks like a stage and she and her brother found a new use for it. They put a b bag inside it and would run through the room and would take a "blind" dive into it hoping to land on the bean bag. Gavin got a little excited and over exerted himself and dove over the bean bag only to hit a wood chair head on. I could hear it all the way downstairs. It was one of those sounds that makes you stop what you are doing and listen for a cry. It was delayed, but yes the cry came. I raced upstairs and was faced with the instant pump knot that made my stomach week. Luckily, my sister-in-law had purchased the cutest ice packs for my kids. What a creative gift and such a perfect gift for Gavin! The pain left him quickly, because within a matter of a few minutes he was sticking hot tamales up his nose. After supper that night, I couldn't find Gavin. Searched the playroom and bedroom only to find him in the kitchen floor laying beside the heat vent. I'm assuming he tried to cover up with the rug from the looks of the last picture. Poor child!
You never know what your going to get with Gavin!

She has loved him from day 1

This was taken at the hospital the day Gavin was born. I made her a big sister shirt that she is wearing and she couldn't wait to meet her new baby brother. This expression is why I love this picture so much and because this is the first time she held him by herself. The picture below was taken as soon as we walked in the house with him from the hospital. She couldn't wait to get her hands on him.

Now Gavin is 2 and things aren't always this precious. I am constantly policing them. Some days I wonder if they are going to continue to get worse or are they going to be more loving toward one another. I want them to be close and take care of one another as any mother does.

Today, however, I had a reassuring moment. There is hope! Sadie gets to get a prize out of the treasure box on Fridays at school, but today it was a little different. She didn't get herself something out. She got her brother something. I always ask her if she had a good day and what she got out of the treasure box and today was no different. She was so excited to tell me that she got her brother a race car out of the treasure box instead of getting herself something and that she made sure it was a fast one. I was so proud of her! So...
She has loved him from day 1
&
she loves him today!

Polkadaisies birthday outfit for Bailey

I finally made some progress last night and finished Bailey's birthday outfit. How did I make such good progress? I came home and my husband had been cleaning all day and doing laundry and my mom cooked supper for us. Therefore, the only thing on my agenda was finishing this outfit. I did take a few breaks. One being for popcorn, Goobers, and a Dr. Pepper while watching a clip of American Idol. I have several things I am working on and hopefully I will finish them soon.
Kentucky t-shirts
Valentine's Day shirts
Peace sign shirts
Name pillow
Mother's necklace
Minnie & Mickey shirts
Twirl skirt "Queen of hearts"
Twirl skirt "When pink & black swirl, it will make you twirl"

Polkadaisies snowman vest

I have to give all the credit to Sue Ellen for this creation. She had seen a vest a while back and wanted me to make one for her. She provided me with the red vest and I put the snowman on it.

Polkadaisies "pitty" purse

Here is the latest "pitty purse". I asked Sadie what we should name these purses and she said "that's easy mommy, it's a "pitty purse" with "pitty" fabric. Pretty just isn't something she says very plain, but I thought it was cute and used it.

Polkadaisies "my pillow" for Lacey

I finished Lacey's pillow tonight. She is getting a new house, a new room, and a "Lacey" pillow. How exciting!!! Sadie is concerned that her big sis didn't get one and how come a baby needed such a big pillow?

Polkadaisies latest creation sterling silver name necklace for Valentine's Day

Here is something I have been working on lately. Richard bought me a necklace similar to this last year with the kids' names on it and I have enjoyed wearing it so much and decided to try making some myself. All my supplies came in this week and I have been toying around with it today and this is what I came up with for a Valentine's gift for my daughter and niece. All pieces are sterling silver. You may not be able to tell from the pictures but this is made of two pieces. The front piece has the name along the bottom and the back piece has the shape of a heart on it. I will be making more, so if you are interested in purchasing one just contact me. cost is $25 and will come with a heart shaped tin
