Sadie's first day of 1st grade

I can't believe Sadie is in the 1st grade and that I am her teacher. Ha ha! Well, at least for half of the day. I have been out of the classroom for a few years now teaching Reading Recovery, but this year I have returned for half of the day. It's funny how things work out because of all years to go back into the classroom, I'm sure glad it was this year so that I can have her. Even though I have been in the same building with her in the past, I didn't get to see her interact and be a part of her school day like I would have liked to. Now, I get to see it all. I get to see her at work, I get to see her interact with her classmates, I get to see her learning new things, and most of all, I get to spend more time with her. There may be days that I will be calling her dad and saying, "Come get her NOW!" but overall I think it is going to be G-R-E-A-T!!!!! With that being said, this week has been a wild week. We have had inservice, after school training, classroom work, Reading Recovery classroom work, sewing, shopping, Gavin's birthday, couples' golf, Cupcakery, Gavin's birthday dinner, etc. I could go on but I won't bore you with it all. I know everyone is busy this time of year, not just me. With Gavin's party out of the way and the first week of school under my belt, I am looking forward to a calmer week that includes much more sleep!

I agree totally! It seems like both of them have grown a foot this summer.
