Polkadaisies...Valentine's Day is just around the corner!

I have had several ask if I am taking orders for Valentine's day and I just wanted to let everyone know that I am. Get them in soon so you will make the cut off. I will try posting some new and previous designs early next week. I know we are just getting past Christmas, but looking at these two cuties will definitely get you thinking about Valentine's Day.

December...

My mom always starts out December with a gift for the kids and she continues this each day of December. She started this when Sadie was a baby and has continued doing it. They got hats one day earlier in the month.

We made a trip to Pigeon Forge to see the Christmas lights at the stadium and then went and saw a Christmas show at the Comedy Barn. It was my first trip to the Comedy Barn and I thought it was lots of fun for me and the kids. Richard even laughed a little. haha! He swears that Larry Bird was there. I'm still not sure of it though. We did pull up some pictures of him on our phones during intermission and the man could have passed for him if it wasn't him. We also stopped at the petting zoo and the best part of the trip for my kids was riding the camel. Who knew ?
The reindeer antlers cheer him up every time.

I don't know why this picture done this, but I was too lazy to redo it.
Rich and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this month and lucky me got flowers at school. Sadie was pretty lucky too because she got some as well.

Rich and I went out for our anniversary. We ate at Bonefish and then went to the movies. It had been a long time since we had been to the movies and I was so excited until I started seeing the previews. I just knew it was going to be a cheesy movie, but it was great! It was the best movie I had seen in a really long time so if you haven't seen the "Fighter" you must go. All in all we had a great date!

I love Christmas decorations but I dread taking them all down. I haven't even started yet, but I know it is going to be horrible!

It's a tradition for Sadie to paint a canvas at Christmas and each year it is a Christmas tree. This year Gavin joined in on the fun.
I've always loved painting so I hope my kids will continue to love it as well.
Didn't they do a great job!

My kids have a new love for footed pajamas. They won't sleep in them because they are such hot boxes, but they love running around the house in them.

We loved getting all the snow and it was so magical waking up to a white Christmas!

My mom and dad got the kids instruments this year. Sadie got a guitar and Gavin got a fiddle.

Gavin enjoyed playing a little while Nannie cooked supper for us.

One of the kids' gifts this year from my sister-in-law was a painting class. They got to paint snowmen. Lots of fun and highly recommended :)
My little lefty did a great job!

Sadie and Cora did great as well! Oh, and Jill did great too!!!!

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I wondered at times if I would get everything accomplished that I intended to and luckily I did. Thank goodness we were out of school 4 out of 5 days the week before Christmas vacation because of snow. If we wouldn't have, I don't know what I would have done. Even with the days off, I pulled a few days without going to bed. Crazy, I know, but it was better than stressing about getting everything finished. Richard and I did all the kids' shopping online and I got everything else finished with one trip to Knoxville...the day before Christmas Eve. I won't do that again! I used to like the trips to the mall during the holidays but it's just not me any more. I'd rather spend my days leading up to Christmas at home wrapping presents, decorating ginger bread houses, baking, making ornaments, etc. The best part of our trip to the mall was that the kids got to see santa. Gavin, who is just 4, has not been a true believer of Santa, but after our trip he now believes he is real. How could he not believe in Santa?! Santa ROCKS!!!
It was so nice spending time with family and eating all the goodies my mom had prepared. The look on my kids faces as they walked into the playroom to see that santa had been there was priceless. Richard and I were just so thankful that neither of us were sick. The past two years we have been sick on Christmas. There is nothing like having to put toys together between tossing your cookies. This year I thought we had made it through everything with a clean bill of health. Then, about 4:00 on Christmas I became ill. I couldn't believe that I was spending another Christmas so sick that I had to quarantine myself in hopes that no one else would get it. Yesterday was a blur because I must have slept the entire day. I was a little sad when I woke up and heard the kids playing with all their new toys and that, again this year, I was too puny to make my way into the room where they were at. Luckily, as I sit here tonight, no one else shows any signs of getting what I had and I am slowly starting to feel better. I've not made it out of the recliner much, but atleast I am in the company of my family and they are enjoying all the cool things Santa brought them.
