Polkadaisies...new dress just in time for summer

I had to pull an all nighter to get these two dresses finished before we left for the beach. Sadie wanted matching dresses for her and her cousin to wear while we were at the beach. I didn't have a pattern, so I was sweating bullets that they wouldn't fit once we got down there. I guess they just wouldn't have worn them. Luckily they both fit great!

Back from vacation!

This is our crew with the rainbow umbrellas.
They didn't have polka dot ones:)
We spent 7 nights away at the beach with our family this past week and we are now back in town. Sorry that I have neglected the blog, but I promised myself that these 7 days would be about my family and nothing else. We do this every year and usually we have around 20-25 family members come along, but this year we only had 16. This picture is just part of the crew. We all would meet down on the beach to hang out and the men would head out around 2 for their 18 holes of golf. Me and the kids wouldn't return to our room until 5 or 6 to get ready for dinner. We did have a routine which is very important for sanity when you have 2 little ones. The kids would be exhausted when we came up to the room, so to make bath time go a little smoother, I would get Krispy Kreme doughnuts and sippy cups ready for them to enjoy during their baths. It was a sure fire way to get them in the bath quickly. I am almost embarrassed to admit that we made a run to the Krispy Kreme every night after dinner or putt putt to buy a dozen doughnuts. The four of us would eat a dozen a day. WOW! It was vacation and I sure wasn't watching my figure. We ate at two of my favorites while we were there...Bonefish & Japanese Steak House. Several of us are not fish eaters, so we had some constant companions for dinner. A few couples on the other hand, had to stray off during dinner to get some seafood. Overall the trip was great and I can't wait to go back!

Some nights it was Krispy Kreme and Marble Slab!

Gavin learned to swim while we were there. It's the cutest thing. He wanted me to take his swimmies off because his sissy and cousin Cora were swimming without theirs. I took them off expecting him to sink and instantly want them back on, but he didn't. He did so good! He would even jump off the side and swim to me. I wish I had a picture of him in action, but I didn't get one.

The kids were dancing outside of Mellow Mushroom. Sadie and Gavin are with their cousins. The girls are 3 months apart and the boys are only 8 days apart. They had a blast!

pretending to be a Daddy's boy

I had to throw this one in there. Mr. Hold My Feet in action on the way down. Rich is holding Gavin's feet while driving. I guess I need to explain the tatoo on Rich's wrist. He had Sadie write her name on her 4th birthday and then went and had it tattooed on his wrist. He is going to have Gavin do the same on his 4th birthday and put it on the other wrist. Are you puking in your mouth?

Meet baby Boone...

and Big brother Fenn!
Are you thinking what I am thinking? He's not real big, is he? If I'm not mistaken, they are just about 17 months apart. Whew! Beth will be a busy woman :)
Thanks so much for the adorable pictures of the boys in their Polkadaisies' shirts and congratulations on the birth of baby Boone!

Happy Father's Day!

I want to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day! We will be spending most of the day together (after he gets his 18 holes of golf in LOL) and I hope he has a great day. I can't put into words how much my dad means to me. The relationship between a daughter and her dad can not be understood unless you experience it. Just ask Rich. He struggled for years trying to understand why I had to get my dad's approval on every decision I made. Now all he does is laugh about it because he is experiencing the father and daughter relationship with Sadie and understands totally what it means.

I love my dad dearly and will always be a daddy's girl. He is that constant supporter who knows exactly how to respond to every emotion I have. I never get upset with my dad and I am always amazed at his thoughtfulness when it comes to me and my family. I have been so blessed by parents and today I want my dad to know that he is a very special blessing in my life that I will always look up to and cherish. I love you dad!

I will for sure have to post a picture later when I am able to use my other computer.

Happy Father's Day Richard!

I want to wish you a verg special Father's Day. We have a big day up our sleeves and hope it's one that you will always remember. I couldn't ask for a better daddy for my kids. They adore you (as you are well aware of and continue to bring it to my attention) and that makes me extremely happy. I still sometimes puke in my mouth but most of the time it's with a smile on my face.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY RICH!

I have a pic I want to post, but have to wait on other comp.

Happy Birthday Glenn Allen

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday "Unkil Gin Alin"! Happy Birthday to you!

Today is my brother's birthday and I want to wish him a wonderful day. We celebrated with him Friday by having supper and cake. Check out his cake. See what you get when I order a cake...polkadots! There is a story behind the cake. I had originally planned on getting him a new pair of golf pants for his birthday and told the lady to decorate the cake just like the pants. Yes the pants looked like that and yes he would wear them. Last minute my dad found some new technology that he thought we should get, so I will have to post pone the pants until the next celebration.

I know it's hard to believe that he would wear polkadot pants, so I have thrown in some pictures of some of the pants that are now hanging in his closet.

I think this is the Kentucky fan coming out in him

These were the inspiration for the cake and the ones he will be getting from me next.

a great look for the 4th of July...I should make him a shirt to match :)

I guess you could say that our taste are similar in some aspects...we like loud and gaudy!

What was I thinking?

Tate, Sadie, Gavin, and Reese

Look at this crew. What was Andrea and I thinking when we took them to Knoxville this evening. The title of my blog should have been...

TWO MOMS WHO SHOULD HAVE TURNED AROUND AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY

Lots of fun conversations with my best friend who I haven't got to visit lately and lots of chaos from these four little ones. We made the best of it and just tried to laugh about it. Let me tell you, it was hard at times to laugh. It also makes me think about how many words I have eaten since the birth of my kids. TOO many to mention :) My advise is to never say never. You know when you can make it out of Target for $23 and some change that something didn't go smooth. I never get out of there that cheap.

BUT...
guess what I got on the way home?

"Mommy I love you!"
"Mommy hold my feet!"

Here is a darling memo board that I personalized for Miss Eva. What a cute name! She will get to hang this in her new room in her new house. How exciting! I will never forget the first night we stayed in our house after we finally finished building it. Well worth the long wait.
